Dear Chieko,
I have found different lyrics to Bamboleo, sung by Julio Iglesias, at the following site:
http://www.melomania.com/letras/1033.htm
The GK interpretation is very interesting, for example:
"Caballo de danza vana...." [GK]
vs
"Caballo te dan sabana ..." [JI]
which means "horse, they give you a sheet..."
The two phrases sound are pronounced the same, but the meaning is rather different.
I have no way of knowing which of these versions is the "original", but certainly the GK version is the most entertaining.
I am surprised to learn that this Latin music is so popular in Japan. Originally, I am from Venezuela, but now live in the United States, near Boston, Massachusetts. Do you speak Spanish?
Attached are the lyrics from the aforementioned site.
Sinceramente,
Maria-Elena

Bamboleo
Julio Iglesias
Bamboleo bambolea
por que mi vida yo la he aprendido a vivir as<
Bamboleo bambolea
Bamboleo bambolea
por que mi vida yo la he aprendido a vivir as<
Bamboleo bambolea
por que mi vida yo la he aprendido a vivir as.
Caballo te dan sabana porque estas viejo y cansao
pero no se dan ni cuenta que un corazn amarrado
cuando le sueltan la rienda es caballo desbocao.
El potro da tiempo al tiempo por que le sobra la edad
caballo viejo no puede perder la flor que le dan
por que despus de esta vida no hay otra oportunidad
Bamboleo bambolea
por que mi vida yo la he aprendido a vivir as<
Bamboleo bambolea
por que mi vida yo la he aprendido a vivir as.

Thank you so much for all the trouble you've gone through. I only wish my friends and I would have had these before we saw them in concert. They were absolutely incredible!!!. The songs are even more beautiful now that we know the words. Thanks again!!!

Thanks for the great web page. I have been a big fan of the Gypsy Kings for 10 years! I first saw them in concert in Moscow, Russia in the Kremlin Palace. They were fantastico! By some stroke of luck they will be in Houston this weekend and I have tickets! I am so excited.
Does anyone have the translation of "La Rumba de Nicolas"? That is one of my favorites. Actually I don't really need the translation; I would like to get the actual words (so it doesn't sound like I'm making-up words).
Keep up the great web site!
Chiao!

I really enjoy your page. I just found the "Rubaiyat" CD at a used record store -- they are out there. The song("Hotel California") is great, and i am almost finished translating it. I am surprised that nobody has translated it because it seems to be the most straight forward spanish that i have heard from them. Anyway, if you would be interested in the translation, let me know. Thanks for your hard work on the page.

Your Gypsy Kings Lyric Page is so very very helpful! Thank you!
A local band here in Tauranga, North Island, New Zealand, has asked me to find some Gypsy Kings lyrics for them, most of which I've found already on your site. Thanks.
However, there are two further songs needed, which are not (yet?) included on your site:
Tengo
Tristessa (Tristeza?)
The English translations are not necessary - I think they will be sung in Spanish.
I would really appreciate these two songs if at all possible. Also, I would like permission to add a link to your site on my own lyric site (see sig. line below).
Thanks so much.
Take care
Jen

I am a new Gipsy Kings fan. These two songs made me cry. I wish I knew what they were about. Thank you in advance. It's a very nice thing you do, to translate these songs.
One other thing: the Gipsy Kings homepage seems to be a bit outdated. Do you know anything about an upcoming tour? Again, thank you.

Also, I know I'm dreaming, but any news about the possibility of a U.S. tour?

Hi Chie,
Thank you - Rennie Selvaggio
Hi there i'm calling from Mauritius Island (in the indian ocean) and i'm looking for the lyrics of the song "Pida Me La"and i ca't find them in the bamboleo site(which is really good indeed)I'ld be very happy if you can e-mail me the lyrics of this song 'cause i really need that...Thx a lot Jean Eric
To the COOL person who made possible the translations of the Gipsy Kings, I LOVE being able to understand the words of these great songs. Thank you very much. I would like to have a translation of Volare'. It is a beautiful song in any language. Last month I was in a store Christmas shoping and they were playing The Best of The Gipsy Kings and I asked who that was. I listened a little while, about two songs worth, and said I have to have that. I was an instant fan. Anyway before I start rambling and wasting your time I would really love to get a translation of Volare'.
Don
