Dear Chieko,

I have found different lyrics to Bamboleo, sung by Julio Iglesias, at the following site:
http://www.melomania.com/letras/1033.htm

The GK interpretation is very interesting, for example:
"Caballo de danza vana...." [GK]
vs
"Caballo te dan sabana ..." [JI]
which means "horse, they give you a sheet..."

The two phrases sound are pronounced the same, but the meaning is rather different.
I have no way of knowing which of these versions is the "original", but certainly the GK version is the most entertaining.

I am surprised to learn that this Latin music is so popular in Japan. Originally, I am from Venezuela, but now live in the United States, near Boston, Massachusetts. Do you speak Spanish?

Hello, As I have written to him(or her), I know nothing about that song except it's a traditional Christmas song. It's not included in the Japanese Version's "Estrellas" CD, so there is no info about the song on the CD liner. If I get any further info, I will let you know. Thank you for your question. The English translations are not necessary - I think they will be sung in Spanish.

Hello. I requested a translation before but I forgot to put my name. Just call me Smoke. I recently saw the GK perform on the tv talk show Live With Regis and Kathie Lee in New York where they performed Canto A Brazil. Though only two minutes long, the performance was better than on the album. I also was able to tape one of the Wolf Trap concerts in which the Tierra Gitana album was just released, I say so because the crowd seemed surprised at hearing the new material. Anyway, could you provide the lyrics and translation of Canto A Brazil?

I was lent a tape of the GK's by a parent down the road. She played it in the evening when she and her child were getting tired and cranky and it really worked well for them. Now, we have four of the GKs albums and we play them every day. My son Mark (16 months old) demands them! You're doing great things here, with the lyrics and the translations. We've been making out the songs word by word for awhile, and some we can understand most of, but there are always those words that I assume are dialect or phrases that I can't make out. I saved all the translations to savor tomorrow.

Requests: Igual Se Entonces, Los Peces en el Rio, and Pajarito. They're on your page, but there's no link...
